Federal Benefits Educators

FBE offers comprehensive and credible retirement education programs to Federal employees. Our mission is to provide current and accurate information on Federal Retirement Systems, empowering employees with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions about their future financial security.

Understanding Your Federal Benefits

Federal Benefits Educator’s (FBE) objective is to provide the education federal employees need to make better-informed decisions regarding their federal retirement benefits. FBE specializes in federal retirement systems and related benefits and conducts no-cost half and full-day educational benefits trainings for federal employees across the country each year.

FBE Advisor Network

Many Federal Employees would like additional assistance beyond the educational seminar, not only in understanding their Federal Benefits but in meeting with a trained financial professional who can assist in identifying areas of concern in retirement preparedness and develop a plan to assist them in achieving their long-term financial goals.

Federal employee retirement system (FERS)

FERS is a retirement system designed to provide employees of the United States federal government with benefits after they have retired. It includes three main components: Social Security, a Basic Benefit Plan, and the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP).

Charlene Roberts

Senior Vice President of Federal Benefits Educators LLC BIMS sister company founded in 2008 to support our efforts in the federal employee marketplace. As General Manager of FBE, Charlene is responsible for the team that supports federal employee outreach and support services for our financial clientele. Charlene’s dedication and sincere care for the FBE clientele is unmatched. Prior to joining FBE, Charlene served in a similar capacity with a competing firm. She has over a decade’s experience in the financial services industry working with a leading investment institution. Charlene’s professional career spans the insurance, investment, and educational workshop environment.

Robin Schoenfeld

Robin works as the Customer Relationship Coordinator at FBE, setting appointments for our financial professionals. She has decades of experience in various sectors of the financial industry. Robin wears many hats professionally and personally, but Grandma is her favorite title. In her free time, she enjoys reading, going on walks, and connecting with family and friends.

Beth Morris

Beth Morris joined Federal Benefits Educators as a professional field trainer in October of 202. Beth retired after serving 21 years with the Department of Justice working for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court System as a Judicial Assistant.

 

Her Fort Worth, Texas tenure afforded the opportunity to work closely with Dallas’ Benefits Department, doing research for Judges, interns, and law clerks requiring well researched and prompt answers. She spent time assisting her judge professor with writing textbooks on advanced bankruptcy law.

 

She is an active member of the Association of Bankruptcy Judicial Assitants (ABJA) where she oversaw the revisions of the certification materials and exam for the Certified Bankruptcy Assistants. Through the ABJA, she discovered a desire to research and educate government employees on their retirement benefits. Judicial Assitants are being phased out of government service and facing retirement earlier than expected.

 

She served two terms on the Judicial Secretaries Advisory Group (JSAG). JSAG was consulted to annually review and give opinions to the Administrative Offices on current policies and regulations. 

 

Beth lives in Nashville with her husband.

Amy Hosney

Amy retired from federal service in 2019 after almost 29 years with the Department of Treasury.  For 25 of those years, she served as a federal law enforcement officer.  In addition to teaching workshops for FBE, Amy worked for two years reviewing Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans for fraud during the pandemic, and conducted due diligence investigations for Morgan Stanley Security.  

She is married to an FBI agent, Jon, and they have two sons, a dog and a cat.  They live along the shoreline in eastern Connecticut, equidistant between Boston and New York.  Amy enjoys skiing, hiking, reading and spending time with family and friends.  She also loves helping federal employees prepare for retirement, and offers a unique perspective as an annuitant who has gone through the process and achieved success!

Walt Ward

Walt joined Federal Benefits Educators as a professional field trainer in 2017, after retiring from Wright Patterson, AFB as a GS-13 with 31 years of Federal Service in 2014.

As a career professional AF DoD civil servant, Walt is well-versed in the Federal benefits available to federal employees. He was onboard during the transition from CSRS to FERS as well as a lifetime TSP participant member since its inception in 1987.

Walt served as an AF DoD instructor teaching Information Technology courses nationwide. While in the position, he delivered over 3400+ hours of live classroom instruction. Furthermore, he was a Computer Information Systems (CIS Dept.) Adjunct Professor/Instructor for 14 years at Sinclair Community College, Dayton, Ohio. In both roles, he was responsible for course development and instructional classroom delivery.

Walt brings a comprehensive understanding of how to maximize employee Government Benefits to enable the Government employee to achieve a comfortable retirement post-government service. Walt holds a B.S., Management Science degree from Wright State Univerity, Dayton, Ohio.

Walt makes his home in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Stacia Bradley

Stacia Bradley joined Federal Benefits Educators as a professional field trainer in February 2018. Stacia recently retired from the federal government after over 41 years of civilian service. Stacia has worked for the Social Security Administration, US Postal Service, Department of Defense/Education Activity, and the Federal Aviation Administration.

Stacia has supervised and mentored many employees, providing technical guidance based on OPM regulations related to federal retirement and benefits programs. Stacia has presented benefits information during onboarding for new employees and facilitated retirement seminars at several agencies. She created presentations, provided training to staff, and performed quality reviews on retirement estimates and applications including disability and death in service. She researched and responded to many congressional inquiries for resolution and has been the point of contact for internal organizations within the agencies she’s worked for.

Stacia has been dedicated to sharing her vast knowledge over the years, counseling, and assisting many federal employees to prepare for retirement. She is excited to work with FBE and continue educating employees about their benefits for the successful end of their careers.

Stacia is based in Kansas City, Kansas.

Greg Barrett

Greg Barrett joined Federal Benefits Educators as a Field Trainer in 2017 after retiring from service with the Federal Government. For the past 15 years, Greg has served as a Human Resource Specialist for the US Department of Agriculture/Forest Service and for the Department of Veterans Affairs.

During his tenure as a human resource professional, Greg developed and executed numerous processes, procedures, and policies related to federal employee retirement benefits and human resource concerns. In his role, Greg provided technical advice and counsel in areas of employee relations, employee benefits, and employee rights.

Prior to beginning his civilian service with the United States Federal Government, Greg served honorably in the United States Armed Forces for over 20 years as a Personnel Superintendent.

Greg holds a Master of Science Management Degree from Cardinal Stritch University of Milwaukee and makes his home in Oak Creek, Wisconsin.

Brian has been in the industry for over 2 decades. He has ran a successful financial practice as a financial advisor. He has also owned and ran an FMO for years. With a background in securities and insurance he brings an insight into BIMS from a sales perspective. Outside of work he enjoys coaching his kids sports and spending time in the outdoors
